The New Republican Forum was a group formed by Michael McKevitt and others in 2003 after a disagreement between a group of Real IRA prisoners in Portlaoise Prison and the outside leadership. The prisoners issued a statement urging the leadership to stand down, claiming a criminal element had taken over. They produced a magazine called Forum which ran from February 2003 until 2006.
